This is the command that applies the wash filter to the trade data.
We recommend that it be used only after a careful review of Appendix D.
It takes no parameters but requires a file named "transactions.txt" in the folder with the TradeMatcher. That transactions file should be a text file of transactions in the normal format for the TradeMatcher's matching engine (see Appendix B) Therefore it should be used as the last command in a script that applies preprocessing directives resulting in a properly formatted text file named "transactions.txt", or alternatively, you can use it in a two pass process where you first preprocess the data, then separately use a one line script to apply the wash filter.
The result file from the wash command is a worksheet named "washworksheet.csv"
We strongly recommend that you supply this worksheet to your tax professional for the reasons stated in Appendix B. An accurate determination of actual wash sales always requires professional judgment. Also, for an accurate wash sale you must include the transactions 30 days before and after the period for which you are reporting as these transactions can affect the basis and holding dates of trades in the period!
